LCC Esports Team Wins Regional Championship

The Lakeview Community College Esports team captured the Midwest Regional Championship last weekend, defeating eight other colleges in a three-day tournament hosted at the LCC Esports Arena. The team competed in League of Legends, Valorant, and Rocket League, earning first place in two of three titles.

Tournament Highlights

• League of Legends team went undefeated through group play and playoffs
• Valorant squad rallied from a 1-0 deficit to win a dramatic 2-1 finals match
• Five LCC players named to the All-Region team
• Team captain James Park named Tournament MVP

The Esports program, now in its third year at LCC, has grown from 15 players to over 60 active members. The team will advance to the National Community College Esports Championship in June.
