Lakeview Community College has been awarded a $1.2 million grant from the National Science Foundation to expand STEM education opportunities for underrepresented students. The three-year grant will fund new laboratory equipment, student scholarships, and a mentorship program connecting LCC students with STEM professionals in the community.
The grant was secured through a proposal led by Dr. Linda Chen, Health Sciences Department Chair, in collaboration with the Science and Mathematics Department. LCC was one of only 25 community colleges nationwide to receive this competitive award.
